Description
Technical Specifications of Mamie Pet Machine:
- Resolution 1.4 mm
- The range of radiopharmaceutical energy used in Mammypat: (350-650 keV)
- Shooting Speed (5 Minutes in Standard Situation)
- Formation of 3D images of breast tissue in normal (no compression)
- The patient’s condition during the imaging is prone (Prone Position)
- Space required for installation room (3X3 m2)
The detectors used in the Breast Specialist Pet System developed by Oncovision are in the form of a ring that surrounds the chest in a cavity-like space and creates extraordinary resolution and high speed of imaging due to the proximity of the detectors and breast tissue.
OncoVision has not sufficed to this either, and by using the modern Continuous Cristal technology instead of Pixilated Cristal in the detector, it has unimaginably increased sensitivity of this system to radiation received from tissue.
Considering the very high sensitivity in the energy range (350-650 keV) and the appropriate resolution of the PEM (about 1.4 mm), this system is able to detect the smallest masses of breast cancer in the above dimensions and due to its very low drug dose, it can generally replace the above systems in definitive diagnosis of breast tissue cancer.
It is worth noting that the above system, in addition to being easy to use for the user of the device (Figure 1), with an Aperture detector with a diameter of 18.6 cm, is easily used for different sizes and the duration of each imaging is also standard 7 to 10 minutes.
